Helped create the company's first Software as a Service offering,
using Ruby on Rails, Amazon's EC2 and S3, MySQL, and custom Ruby code
on the backend.
- Actively influenced the design of the user interface for
the product by introducing some of the core UI concepts.
- Devised and implemented a system to aggressively maximize cache
hits across the application, even between different user's
authenticated pageviews, by reducing different (yet equivalent)
search queries to their optimal common form.
- Created an extensible data import tool in Ruby that validates
and imports different versions of an input file, using C extensions
and MySQL's bulk import facilities for added speed.
- Participated in the design of a data model to allow for fast,
live, arbitrary aggregate metrics of very large data sets.
